The Prayers of the People:

Leader:  Our faith is centered on Christ, who revealed to us the healing touch of God’s justice and mercy.  We now call on God to continue that same healing and justice in our lives and in our world, saying: Lord, have mercy.

People:  Lord, have mercy.

Leader: We pray for the leaders of this country, and all countries, that they may govern with justice and mercy.

People:  Lord, have mercy.

Leader: We pray for the church, ministers and people, that they will continue Christ’s mission of healing for all that is blind in their communities. In our Diocese, we pray today for St. Mary’s, Blackburn Hamlet, and for the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer and their Parish Representatives.  In our Companion Diocese, the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, we pray today for All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Beirut, Lebanon.

People:  Lord, have mercy.

Leader: We pray for those who are in need of healing, especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause), that they may find in Christ a source of strength in their struggles.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader:  We pray for those who have died, especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause), that they may live eternally in the presence of God, in whom all find comfort and peace.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader:  Almighty God, we seek your face in our lives. Touch us with your Spirit of justice and healing, through Christ your Son, in whom we pray.

People: Lord, have mercy.  Amen.

We Celebrate The Presence Of Jesus

Offertory Hymn: What Gift Can We Bring

1 What gift can we bring, what present, what token?
What words can convey it, the joy of this day?
When grateful we come, remembering, rejoicing,
what song can we offer in honor and praise?

2 Give thanks for the past, for those who had vision,
who planted and watered so dreams could come true.
Give thanks for the now, for study, for worship,
for mission that bids us turn prayer into deed.

3 Give thanks for tomorrow, full of surprises,
for knowing whatever tomorrow may bring,
the Word is our promise always, forever,
we rest in God’s keeping and live in God’s love.

4 This gift we now bring, this present, this token,
these words can convey it, the joy of this day!
When grateful we come, remembering, rejoicing,
this song we now offer in honor and praise!

Announcements

THANK YOU to The Rev Katherine Wallace who led worship today while Rev Andrea is working for the wider church.

CHURCH SCHOOL: Back by popular demand, beginning Sunday Nov. 18th the children will be gathering for worship upstairs. Rev Andrea will be doing a children’s story and the children will then proceed downstairs for classes.

OUTREACH IS AT THE HEART OF FOLLOWING JESUS: for the four Sundays of Advent we will be gathering food items for the local Food Bank. There is a tree in the Sanctuary and one in Bender Hall. Our challenge is to fill the bottom of the trees with non perishable items! We can be the hands of Christ to our neighbours!

THE ACW will be holding their annual general meeting on Wednesday, November 21st in Bender Hall from 11:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m.  They will be holding a MINI BAZAAR in Bender Hall on Sunday, December 2nd following the 10:00 a.m. service.

SAVE THE DATE: Trinity to host an Out of the Cold Dinner on Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at Southminster United Church. Volunteers will be needed between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. to: set -up, serve, host, register and clean-up.  A sign-up sheet listing all volunteer opportunities will be posted in Bender Hall in December.  Please consider joining us again or for the first time. Judy Richardson.
