Leader:  We are invited to serve the needs of all, but we require God’s assistance. Let us turn our hearts to God, asking for help in our needs saying:

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That leaders of the church will freely serve the faithful, without preference to rank or authority, we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That among the peoples of the world service will take precedence over authority, we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That the many peoples of the world will serve the needs of others and will comfort the anxieties of all, we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That the victims of oppression, abuse, or neglect will discover the peace of God through others’ assistance, prayer, and presence, we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That all who are sick especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause) will know the power of God, we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: May all who have died especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause) rest in the presence of God, sharing in the eternal banquet: for this we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: That the community gathered here will nourish others, sustained by the nourishment of the word and the table of the Lord, we pray to the Lord. In our Diocese, we pray today for The Parish of Eastern Outaouais, Christ Church, Poltimore, St. George’s, Gatineau, St. John’s in the Wilderness, Glen Almond, St. Stephen’s, Buckingham, St. Thomas, Silver Creek, and for Diocesan Synod.  In our Companion Diocese, the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, we pray today for St. George’s Cathedral, Jerusalem, and for Educational Ministry of the Arab Evangelical Episcopal School, Ramallah. We pray for those in our Diocese living under Religious Vows.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people. For this we pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: God of justice, Lord of love, send your Spirit to dwell within us, sustaining our efforts of service; we ask this in Jesus’ name, who lives forever and ever.

People: Lord, have mercy.  Amen.

The Communion

Communion Hymn: Heaven Is In My Heart

O, heaven is in my heart
O, heaven is in my heart
The kingdom of our God is here
Heaven is in my heart

The presence of his majesty

Heaven is in my heart
And in his presence joy abounds
Heaven is in my heart
The light of holiness surrounds
Heaven is in my heart

O, heaven is in my heart
O, heaven is in my heart
His precious life on me he spent

Heaven is in my heart
To give me life without an end
Heaven is in my heart
In Christ is all my confidence
Heaven is in my heart
The hope of my inheritance
Heaven is in my heart

O, heaven is in my heart
O, heaven is in my heart
We are a temple for his throne

Heaven is in my heart
And Christ is the foundation stone

Heaven is in my heart
He will return to take us home
Heaven is in my heart
The Spirit and the Bride say ‘Come!’
Heaven is in my heart

O, heaven is in my heart
O, heaven is in my heart
