Collect of the Day

Enfolding God, Trinity of Love,

You are our source, our goal, our life:

May we be born again in you,

No more to live alone and unconnected,

But, sharing the Spirit’s breath,

Be carried to your heart;

Through Jesus Christ, who lifts us up. Amen.

We Respond to God’s Word

Prayers of the People (Adapted from Susan Sayers)
The mysterious and holy nature of the one true God is beyond our understanding, but it is both communal harmony and individual personality, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Leader: Let us pray to the Father through the Son and in the power of the Holy Spirit for Holy Trinity, Pembroke, The Venerable Rob Davis, Holy Trinity, Hawkesbury, The Reverend Doug Richards. For the Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.) and their groups and members throughout the Diocese. We pray for John, our bishop, Arran, our priest. We pray for all clergy and people and their ministries in the Diocese of Ottawa.

People: Lord God, may the Church reflect your community and unity; may there be Godly harmony, shared ministry, mutual support and encouragement in the faith. (Silence)

Leader: May your will be done:

People: on earth as it is in heaven.

Leader: Lord God, may the world’s leaders seek not personal power but the public good; may conflicts be faced honestly and needs recognised and met; may all our communities be built up on what is good, true , just and right. (Silence)

Leader: May your will be done:

People: on earth as it is in heaven.

Leader: Lord God, may there be love and respect for one another in every household; may there be mutual support and thoughtfulness, consideration and trust. (Silence)

Leader: May your will be done:

People: on earth as it is in heaven.

Leader: Lord God, may the hearts’ cries for help be heard; the tears collected and fears quieted; may suffering be eased and guilt erased through your healing love. At this time, we pray for (insert names) and for those who we name silently or aloud.  (Silence)

Leader: May your will be done:

People: on earth as it is in heaven.

Leader: Lord God, may the dead rise to new and eternal life, freed from their aching and restored for ever. At this time, we pray for (insert names) and for those who we name silently or aloud.  (Silence)

Leader: May your will be done:

People: on earth as it is in heaven.

Leader: Lord God, we pour out to you our praise and wonder at the hidden mysterious holiness of your Being, so full of glory and love!

Leader: Merciful God,
Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer over the Gifts

God of all creation,
all you have made is good,
and your love endures forever.
You bring forth bread from the earth
and fruit from the vine.
Nourish us with these gifts,
so that we might be for the world
signs of your gracious presence in Jesus Christ,
our Saviour and Lord. Amen.

Anthem: Almighty and Everlasting God by Orlando Gibbons

Almighty and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
