Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

We Respond to God’s Word

Homily

The Apostles’ Creed                                                            page 189

The Prayers of the People:

Leader:  Let us who journey on the way with Christ, risen and ever-present in mystery, pray for the world with all our heart and mind.  In our Diocese of Ottawa, we pray today for the Church of the Resurrection, for Christian Formation and Lay Leadership Development, for Youth Ministries Development, for the Honorary Assistants, and in our Companion Diocese, we pray for The Home of the Elderly, Amman.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People:   For the church universal and for this community of faith, that we may wholeheartedly devote ourselves to the apostolic teaching, to common life, to the breaking of bread and the life of prayer, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:  For all nations and people of this wide earth that we may be delivered from human devices of oppression, and from false idols and futile ways, we pray to the Lord.

People:  That all who grieve or who are desperate or haunted by violence may know the hidden strength of Christ present, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:  For the homeless, those without bread, those tempted by vengeance and driven to rage, that they may find refuge and strength in the one who walks with them, we pray to the Lord.

People:  For the children of calamity, and for our own children, that they may come to know and to claim the promises of God to all generations, near and far off, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:  Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Give them eternal rest.

People:  Preserve us all, O Lord, and take us home to your heart, so that all our lives may be woven together in prayer and praise, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
