The Prayers of the People

Leader: We pray for the Church throughout the world, and in our Diocese we pray today for St. Martin’s, Ottawa, Holy Trinity, Metcalfe, All Saints, Greely, St. George’s, Vernon, and for the members of the Outreach Committee and its subcommittees and working groups.  In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. George’s College, Jerusalem.  For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Arran our Priest and for all the clergy and people.  We pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and those we name silently or aloud (pause).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), and those we name silently or aloud (pause). We have been taught to pray by the Lord.

People: To face the promise of life with the courage God gives.

Leader: To face the evil of life with the goodness God gives.

People: To face the death of life with the love God gives.

Leader: To face our aged with God’s unfailing mind.

People: To face our young with God’s unfailing heart.
