Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

The Prayers of the People:

Leader: With Solomon and the great sages of our lineage,

People: let us now turn our hearts to God and seek true wisdom as we pray to the Lord.

Leader: In the Diocese of Ottawa, we pray today for St. Stephen’s, Ottawa, St. Matthias, Ottawa, and for the members of the Ottawa Primate’s World Relief Fund and Development Fund Working Group.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People: For the leaders of religious communities and parishes throughout the earth, as they journey towards truth and clarity, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: For governmental officials, caught in the arms race, locked in an age of deceit and suspicion, we pray to the Lord.

People: For the youth of our age in their search for the pearl of identity, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People: For the sick, for the dying victims of incurable disease, for those chained by depressions, fear, and addiction, and for those who minister to them, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: For all mothers and fathers who awake today without food for their children, we pray to the Lord.

People: For those who seek and never find, for those who travel without purpose, and for those blind to the needs of others, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Give them eternal rest.

People: Astonish us once again, O God, and bring forth from the storeroom of your heart the abundance of wisdom. May all who ask for our prayers know your love, and may we give testimony to your grace in our lives of compassion. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH THE OLD OTTAWA SOUTH PORCH SALE: Trinity will be joining the neighbourhood Porch Sale on Saturday, September 10th (9 AM until 3 PM).

Paul Merriam is coordinating this year’s sale, and is looking for volunteers to help organize these categories of sale items:

Sports Equipment                  Small Household Appliances

Toys and Games                   Dishes and Cutlery

Children’s Clothing                 Attic Treasures

Tools

Paul can’t do this alone, he needs your help!  If you’re able to help, even for a short period, please phone Paul at 613 730 7581, call or email the office, or add your name to a sign-up sheet which is located on the table near the entrance of the church.  If you are not able to help, please start thinking about clean, working items which you’d like to donate!

Please Note:  Bob Taylor is organizing a separate Book Sale later this year.  Please keep saving books, but don’t bring them to the Porch Sale.  Watch the Bulletin for an announcement.

We’d like to have a strong presence in the community, and this is a great opportunity.  Thank you for your support!

DEADLINE FOR THE NEXT GRAPEVINE is August 28th.  If you have any items to be included please send them to Sue Cherry at scherry@magma.ca, or call or email the office.

CHANGE FOR CHANGE.  Don’t forget to drop all your spare change into the World Vision bucket for Sheila.  Check the scrap book for the latest updates on her progress.

If you have any announcement that didn’t make this week’s bulletin, please let Rev. Andrea know prior to the service and she will ensure that it is read.
