The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Christ calls us to a life of peace and humility. Let us pray for strength to live this baptized life, saying:

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all the baptized people of God, that having been called by our Lord we may gladly wait on those in need, let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all in authority in nation and church, that they may learn humility, let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all countries at war, that the peace of Christ may come among them, and for all who suffer the ravages of wartime, that they may find comfort and refuge, let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all who minister in this and in every Christian community, that they may find strength for their tasks, let us pray to the Lord. In our Diocese, we pray today for St. James the Apostle, Perth, St. Augustine’s, Drummond, and for the participants in the upcoming Diocesan Clergy Conference.  In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for Jofed Community Rehabilitation Center, Jordan Valley, Jordon. As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all children, that they may be fed and housed and may grow with self-confidence and joy, let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all in any need, the sick, the suffering, the oppressed; for those who serve others against their own will; and for all who have asked for our prayers, especially (insert names) and for those we name silently or aloud (pause), let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

Leader: For all the saints who have willingly served others, we praise our Servant God. That we may join them in a life of service, let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.  Amen

The Communion

Communion Hymn: Let There Be Love Shared Among Us

Let there be love shared among us,
  let there be love in our eyes.
May now your love sweep this nation;
  cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding,
  brotherly love that is real.
Let there be love shared among us,
  let there be love.

Let there be peace shared among us,
  let there be peace in our eyes.
May now your peace sweep this nation;
  cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding,
  sisterly love that is real.
Let there be peace shared among us,
  let there be peace.

Let there be hope shared among us,
  let there be hope in our eyes.
May now your hope sweep this nation;
  cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding,
  brotherly love that is real.
Let there be hope shared among us,
  let there be hope.

Let there be joy shared among us,
  let there be joy in our eyes.
May now your joy sweep this nation;
  cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding,
  sisterly love that is real.
Let there be joy shared among us,
  let there be joy.

Let there be love shared among us,
  let there be love in our eyes.
May now your love sweep this nation;
  cause us, O Lord, to arise.
Give us a fresh understanding,
  brotherly love that is real.
Let there be love shared among us,
  let there be love.
