The Prayers of the People:

Leader: We pray today for the unity of the Church in witness and proclamation of the Gospel. In our Diocese, we pray for St. John the Evangelist, Lancaster, St. Michael and All Angels, Maxville, and for the members of the Diocesan Refugee Working Group.  In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. Luke’s Center, Beirut, Lebanon.  As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. You taught us that to serve you is to serve others.  We ask that you continue to bless and sanctify the Growing in Faith Together campaign as an act of our faithfulness to you and that you will lead us to continue growing in faith together. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people. Lord, revealed in the world…

People: hear our prayer.

Leader: For the peace and stability of all peoples and for the leaders of the nations. Lord, revealed in the world….

People: hear our prayer.

Leader: For places of work, education, and leisure. Lord, revealed in the world…

People: hear our prayer.

Leader: For a blessing on our homes: for our relations and friends and for all whom we love. Lord, revealed in the world…

People: hear our prayer.

Leader: For the sick and the suffering and all who minister to their needs, remembering (insert names) and for those we name silently or aloud (pause).  Lord, revealed in the world…

People: hear our prayer.

Leader: Let us commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray, to the mercy and protection of God. Lord, revealed in the world…

People: hear our prayer.  Amen.

Some FAQ’s About Trinity’s GIFT Appeal

What if I can only contribute a small amount?

All contributions are important – the load is easier when we all pull together.  Begin by prayerfully considering what you would like to contribute over a short period, such as a day, a week, or a month.  When you do the math and extend it over five years, your contributions add up!

What if I can’t contribute to this GIFT appeal?

Some of us will not be able to contribute to GIFT, even if we might like to. We should simply send in our card with a message such as: “Not able to contribute at this time” or “Good luck for a successful campaign, please let me know how I can help in other ways.
