Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

We Respond to God’s Word

The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Christ is risen, Alleluia.  We rejoice in this day.

People: Indeed Christ is risen, let us approach Christ in faith and share the good news with all we meet.

Leader: In our Diocese, we pray today for the Church of the Epiphany, Gloucester, and St. Luke’s, Ottawa.  In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Marka, Amman. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People: May all the baptized live with abundant compassion for all people, especially for those shut out from the society. For this let us pray to the Lord.

Leader: Today we take a step in faith, and we begin our GIFT campaign.  O God from whom every gift derives, we come to you in thanksgiving and praise.  You taught us that to serve you is to serve others.  We ask that you continue to bless and sanctify the Growing in Faith Together campaign as an act of our faithfulness to you and that you will lead us continue growing in faith together.

People:  May more and more of God’s people and all the created order become a sign of the resurrection in the world, and may our faith give courage to the doubting. For this let us pray to the Lord.

Leader: We are strengthened by Christ’s resurrection to share the power of the Spirit with all the suffering.  Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). We pray for all in any need.

People: May the power of Christ’s resurrection give life to all who have little reason to hope. For this let us pray to the Lord.

Leader: May that morning star which never sets, Christ our light, find us burning with charity until the world is enlightened with love. For this let us pray to the Lord.

People: Eternally creative God, give us the faith and courage to recreate the world in your image. We ask this in the name of the risen one, Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen.

THE CRANMER SINGERS, under the direction of Frances MacDonnell, will sing Evensong at Trinity on Sunday, April 22nd at 5:00 p.m.  Please plan to join us for this wonderful music-filled service.

THE GREAT TRINITY BOOK SALE will be held in Bender Hall on Saturday, May 5th, from 9:30 to 3:00.  To make it ‘great’, we need lots of items —novels, mysteries, classics, romances, ‘book club books’, cookbooks, gardening books, books for children, CDs, etc.  Please bring them in any time after Easter, from April 10th to May 3rd. (It is hard to sort items brought in at the last minute.  And sadly, some books just won’t sell—encyclopedia sets, text books, manuals, magazines.  Please don’t bring these; recycle them elsewhere.)

HELP WANTED: If you can help sort books in the week before the sale, help set up on the evening of Friday, May 4th, or help during the actual sale (either a morning or an afternoon shift) please speak to Sue or Bob Taylor (613-230-3903), or Paul Merriam.

TRINITY WILL BE HOLDING AN OLD FASHIONED CHURCH RUMMAGE SALE on June 2nd.  Doing your spring cleaning?  Bring us any jewellery, household items in good condition, and clean gently used clothing, linens and toys that you no longer want.  The better quality the item, the better it sells!  For more information please contact Nancy Bassam (613-731-5086) or Paul Merriam.

CALLING ALL GARDENERS TO HELP WORLD VISION! We have received a very enthusiastic acknowledgement from World Vision for our generous donation of $600 to Sheila’s community at Christmas. (See the scrapbook at the back of the church, and keep your spare change coming!) It is suggested that we might continue our support by independently growing tomatoes from seeds provided by World Vision over the summer and donating the proceeds back to the project. If anyone would like to grow tomatoes in their garden over the summer to sell at church or to friends and neighbors, would they please contact Janet Hemings (613-822-4697) or as she will be away for a couple of weeks, Victoria Scott (613-730-5517) and they will provide you with the seeds.

If you have any announcement that didn’t make this week’s bulletin, please let Rev. Andrea know prior to the service and she will ensure that it is read.
