Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

The Prayers of the People:

Leader: As we reach out our thoughts and our energies beyond the walls of this gathering space, hoping that God’s reign may be the deepest desire of every human heart, let us pray. In the Diocese of Ottawa, we pray today for St. James’, Morrisburg, St. John the Baptist, Iroquois, Holy Trinity, Riverside Heights, and for all students as they travel and prepare for the coming academic year.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People: O God, may your dominion grasp us and ravish the hearts of all who claim Christ as Lord.

Leader: O God, make your justice grow in our land, that the victims of this age will find shelter in its branches.

People: To you, Abba, we raise our eyes in hope. Inspire those whose decisions influence the lives of others, that they may discern wisely and act compassionately.

Leader: O God, imaginative Creator, bless artists, poets, and writers with the creative touch of your word.

People: Make them avenues of your vision.

Leader: O God, we pray for all the oppressed, all the needy, all in terror, all the sick.  Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People: Give health and peace to all.

Leader: We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). O God, we pray for the dead.

People: On the last day gather us all into your heavenly realm.

Leader: O Master of might and merciful Judge, in our weakness we turn to you for help. Hear us, and come to our rescue.

People: You have promised to hear our prayers if we raise them in the name of Jesus, and so we do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
