Psalm 116:1, 10-17       (please sing together)                        #352

Lord, from the depths to thee I cried.  My voice, Lord, do thou hear: Unto my supplication’s voice give an attentive ear.

Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O Lord, should’st mark iniquity? But yet with thee forgiveness is, that feared thou mayest be.

I wait for God, my soul doth wait, my hope is in his word.
More than they that for morning watch, my soul waits for the Lord;

I say, more than they that do watch the morning light to see. Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with him mercies be.

Prayers of the People:

Leader:    On this holy night we dine together as the body of Christ and at the table come to love and serve one another.

People:   On this holy night, then, let us pray for the church and the world.

Leader:    For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People:   For the whole church of God, that it may grow in unity and servanthood, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    For our congregation, that in these holy days we may grow in love for one another and for all people, we pray to you O Lord.

People:   For those who will be baptized at Easter that they may rejoice in their passage through death into new life, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    For all the leaders and people of the world, that reconciliation and peace may overcome conflict and oppression, we pray to you O Lord.

People:   For the hungry in body or spirit that they may be fed, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    For the sick and those in pain, for the lonely and the forgotten, for the dying and all who mourn. Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People:   That they may know the full extent of God’s love for them, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). In thanksgiving for the saints and martyrs and for all the faithful departed who join us at your table of grace, we pray to you O Lord.

People:    O God, into your love we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
