Worshipping God as disciples of Jesus;

showing love to our neighbours near and far.

Good Friday

April 19, 2019

10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist with Church School

The Gathering of the Community

The churches of our Diocese stand on the traditional territories of the Algonquin and Mohawk Nations. May we dwell on these lands always with respect and peace.

The Ministry of the Word

Celebrant: All we like sheep have gone astray;

we have turned every one to our own way,

People: And the Lord has laid on him

the iniquity of us all.

Celebrant: Christ the Lord became obedient unto death,

People: Even death on a cross.

Celebrant:     Almighty God,

People:        our heavenly Father,

we have sinned

in thought and word and deed;

we have not loved you with our whole heart;

we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves.

We pray you of your mercy,

forgive us all that is past,

and grant that we may serve you

in newness of life

to the glory of your name. Amen.

The Collect of the Day

O Holy and Immortal One,
we veil our faces before your glory,
and bow before the cross of your wounded Christ.
With angels and archangels
we praise you, our Mercy,
and bless you, our Compassion,
for in our brokenness
you have not abandoned us. Amen.
