What is financial Stewardship?
Support for the parish is in our hands. Meeting our current financial stewardship needs requires an increase in parishioner contributions. You are encouraged to review the current level of your many blessings and determine if you are able to provide additional support to your parish, your community, your diocese and beyond.
Is there a particular amount I should give?
This is an individual decision that each person or family makes. All of us need to give thoughtful consideration to our contributions. We are asked to give a percentage of our income to the ministry of the church and to review this amount on a regular basis. A proportional giving chart is available in the Trinity Stewardship Booklet to help you decide.
Why is regular giving important to the Church?
Every year, Vestry (a meeting of everyone in the Parish) approves an operating budget for the year ahead. A clear indication from all parishioners of their regular and intentional offerings will permit Parish leaders to establish programs and budgets that correspond with the resources we make available to God through the church.
What does ‘proportional giving’ mean?
Our parish has adopted the biblical principle of offering a proportion of our bountiful blessings to God’s work in the world as the central tenet for personal financial stewardship. Proportional giving means we are challenged to give first to God, rather than from whatever amount is left over.
Can I support Trinity even when I can’t attend services?
Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) is a form of automatic, monthly electronic payment. It is available to you at Trinity and is a convenient way to make an intentional pledge to support the ongoing work of your parish. If you would like to sign up for PAR, details can be found on the pledge sheet. It is easy to do – consider giving it a try.
I share my gifts among a number of charities. How does that affect my pledge to Trinity?
Much as God created us unique individuals, our circumstances vary greatly. Many of us make contributions to various charitable causes as well as to the church. We must each determine our priorities and responsibilities as befits our households. As you seek to balance a range of demands, you are invited to consider making an intentional, proportional offering through Trinity toward our work in God’s name.
Will my offering be confidential?
Yes. The amount you pledge and the amount you give are treated confidentially.
What if my personal circumstances change during the year?
You may alter your offering at any time, as all gifts are voluntary.
“Each of you must give as you have made up your mind,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
