Welcome to Trinity! The Prayers of the People:
Leader: Rejoicing with the knowledge that the Good Shepherd knows each one of us,
People: Let us pray for the needs of our community, our church, and our world.
Leader: In our Diocese, we pray today for Church of the Resurrection, Ottawa, for the Baptismal Ministry Formation and Leadership Development, and for the Honorary Assistants to the Parishes of the Diocese. In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. Luke’s Chapel for the Deaf, Salt. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. You taught us that to serve you is to serve others. We ask that you continue to bless and sanctify the Growing in Faith Together campaign as an act of our faithfulness to you and that you will lead us continue growing in faith together. For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.
People: May we recommit ourselves to hold the goods of this world in common and to work to eliminate hunger and homelessness. For this let us pray to the Lord.
Leader: When we share with one another, we make a new world.
People: May we build a new community on earth which knows God as home. For this let us pray to the Lord.
Leader: Following the example of the shepherd who searched for the lost sheep,
People: Let us seek out the lost in our community and welcome them in our midst. For this let us pray to the Lord.
Leader: Conscious of the Good Shepherd’s voice, may we speak God’s words of reconciliation and peace to all we meet,
People: And may all in governmental authority receive the joyful message of peace. For this let us pray to the Lord.
Leader: We are called to give up our lives for others. Let us praise God for all in serving professions who work at low pay for the welfare of others.
People: May we give offer compassion and hope to those in our care. For this let us pray to the Lord.
Leader: Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence). We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). We pray for all in any need. God, in you we live and move and have our being. You seek us before we know your name, and you give us joy.
People: Accept our prayer of joy in being found and forgiven and loved by you, for we pray in the name of Christ your Son and in the joy of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
