Welcome to Trinity! If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave. Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods. If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.
We Gather As God’s People
Opening Hymn: Hark the Glad Sound! … #98
(Children should remain at the back of the church during the candle lighting)
Advent Candle Lighting
Celebrant: These lights have been our friends on the way. Now we will light the last Advent candle (lights four candles).
People: Mary, the mother of Jesus, laughed with happiness when she knew her baby was soon to be born.
Celebrant: Elizabeth was with her, sharing her joy and telling her that she was a special person.
People: We see good things in each other while we wait to celebrate her baby being born.
Celebrant: O God,
People: as we begin to feel the joy of Christ’s coming, we pray that we will look, and find in wonder, the beauty of Christ’s life in each other which is your gift to us. Amen
