Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

Psalm   130 (please sing together)                   Tune HORSLEY #202

1. Lord, from the depths to thee I cried. My voice, Lord, do thou hear:
  Unto my supplication’s voice
give an attentive ear.

2. Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O Lord, should’st mark iniquity?
But yet with thee forgiveness is, that feared thou mayest be.

3. I wait for God, my soul doth wait, my hope is in his word.
  More than they that for morning watch, my soul waits for the Lord;

4. I say, more than they that do watch the morning light to see.

Let Israel hope in the Lord,
for with him mercies be.

We Respond to God’s Word

The Nicene Creed                                                       page 188

The Prayers of the People:

Leader:    In our baptism we have been called to rise from the dead and to live with Christ in the Spirit of God.

People:   Bonded to the whole people of God in baptism, let us pray for the church and for all people in their need.

Leader:    For all who lead the church, and for all the baptized in their lenten pilgrimage.  In the Diocese of Ottawa, for those in the parishes of St. John the Baptist, Kars, and St. Paul’s, Osgoode; for the church wardens and treasurers in the Diocese; and in our companion diocese, we pray for the Church of St. John the Evangelist and St. Luke’s Church, Haifa, Israel.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People:   For the unity of the scattered people of God and for those who are preparing for baptism, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    For the leaders of nations, and for peace throughout the world, we pray to you O Lord.

People:   For all who suffer, for all the dying, for those who grieve, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People:   For those whose burden is too deep for words, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Give them eternal rest.

People:   In thanksgiving for the saints and martyrs, and for all who are heirs of Christ’s suffering and glory, we pray to you O Lord.

Leader:    O God, in the waters of baptism you rescue our lives from death and make us your children.

People:   Into your hands we commend ourselves and all for whom we pray, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
