Welcome to Trinity! The Prayers of the People
Leader: Jesus went through Galilee preaching and healing and showing compassion to those in need.
People: As God continues to come today to those for whom we pray, let us offer our prayers to God.
Leader: Creator of all, look with favour upon the peoples of the world.
People: In your mercy, give to all people the necessities of a dignified life.
Leader: Ruler of creation, instill wisdom and understanding among the leaders of nations.
People: Guide the leaders of this country and all countries into ways of justice and peace.
Leader: In our Diocese of Ottawa, let us pray for the parishes of All Saints’ Westboro, and the Church of the Ascension; as well as for the visitors, volunteers and staff of Cornerstone/Le Pilier. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people. Lord of the church, gather us all into one holy communion.
People: Give us O Lord the courage to look to you alone as the source of our unity.
Leader: Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Great Physician, bring healing to all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit.
People: We pray for those we know and love, and for those known only to you O Lord. Inspire us to care for your gifts of healthy bodies and minds.
Leader: We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Spirit of the living Christ, fill us with expectation and an eager longing for the coming of that day when no one will suffer.
People: A day when all will be gathered together in heavenly joy and eternal prosperity O Lord.
Leader: All this we ask, O God, in the name of Christ, who died and rose for us, and whose coming in glory we await.
People: Accept our prayers and praises, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
