The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Jesus calls us to give up our lives for others. That we may have the faith to live as Jesus did, let us pray for all in need, saying:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord.

Leader: O gracious God, you have given up your very self to save the world. That we may be empowered to give up ourselves for one another, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: You have made your people equal and free in the baptism of your Son. That we may live joyfully in this new way, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: You call us to take up our cross and follow the way of Christ. That we may serve one another and live in obedience to your word, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: You show to us all the poor and the needy, all the homeless and the hungry. That we may lighten their load by taking it upon ourselves, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: You give us enough that we may share with the needy. That we and all institutions of relief may be insistent in our care for others, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: In our Diocese, we pray today for All Saints, Petawawa, St. George’s, Alice, and St. George’s Military Chapel, Petawawa. In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. John the Baptist Episcopal School for the Integration of the Blind, Irbid, Jordan. As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: You have surrounded us with saints of every time and place. That we may follow them as they followed Christ on the way to the cross, we pray:

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

Leader: Hear our prayers, O merciful God, and accept our praises.  May the gospel of your cross give its miraculous life to all the world, through Christ our Lord.

People: Send us your Spirit, O Lord

The Communion

Communion Hymn: Center of My Soul

Lord, You’re the center of my soul,

Both my beginning and my goal.

All that I am and all that I’ll be,

Draws from the life You give me.

You are my wisdom and my strength,

On You in all I can depend.

Once I was broken, now I’m whole,

Lord, You’re the center of my soul. (REPEAT)

You bring the meaning to my days,

You are the purpose in my ways.

Once I was empty, now I’m full,

Lord You’re the center of my soul.

Lord, You’re the center of my soul.
