Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

We Respond to God’s Word

The Apostles’ Creed                                                            page 189

The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Who can separate us from the love of God? What can separate us from the love of Christ?

People: Let our hearts now respond to such overwhelming love as we pray together in the Spirit.

Leader: In the Diocese of Ottawa, we pray today for St. James, Leitrim, and for the Carleton University Ecumenical Chaplaincy.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.  That God will renew the merciful covenant made with us in love, we pray to the Lord.

People: That the ministers of the gospel may be people of genuine conversion and prophetic voice, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: That the bread of life may be shared one day by all Christians at a common table of praise, we pray to the Lord.

People: For the poor of our world, and for governments called to assist them in their need, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People: For the sick and the suffering in our world, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: For those preparing for baptism, that they may hear the invitation of God to come to the waters of regeneration and there find abundant life, we pray to the Lord.

People: For the newly wedded couples in our community, for expectant parents, and for those who nurture children, that all may be fed at the breasts of a loving God and find strength in lives of service, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence). Let us be mindful of all who have died.

People: That they may come into the fullness of life, united with God in the communion of the faithful, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: O God, your loving care for us calls for our gratitude. Multiply once again your abundant mercy toward us; renew your covenant with us; and let our hearts overflow with godly love for others.

People: We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Rabbi and Lord, now in the Spirit and forever. Amen.

WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH THE OLD OTTAWA SOUTH PORCH SALE: Trinity will be joining the neighbourhood Porch Sale on Saturday, September 10th (9 AM until 3 PM).

Paul Merriam is coordinating this year’s sale, and thanks everyone who has already volunteered to help him! He is still looking for volunteers to help organize these categories of sale items:

Sports Equipment                  Small Household Appliances

Tools                                     Dishes and Cutlery

If you’re able to help, even for a short period, please phone Paul at 613 730 7581, call or email the office, or add your name to a sign-up sheet which is located on the table near the entrance of the church.  If you are not able to help, please start thinking about clean, working items which you’d like to donate!

If you have items to donate, but aren’t able to bring them to the church yourself, please call Trevor Heavens at 613-238-3419, and he will come and collect them from you.

Please keep saving books, but don’t bring them to the Porch Sale. There will be a book sale later – watch the Bulletin for details.

We’d like to have a strong presence in the community, and this is a great opportunity.  Thank you for your support!

OR, if you would prefer, the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) is also doing relief work in Africa, and donations can be given and indicated on the offertory envelope or a marked plain envelope.  If you do this by September 16th, the Canadian Government will match your donation.
