The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Let us by prayer and thanksgiving, make our requests to God. Gracious God, we pray for peace, justice and reconciliation throughout the world. We pray for the honouring of human rights, and for the relief of the oppressed. We give thanks for all that is gracious in the lives of men, women and children.

People: In faith, we pray to you our God.

Leader: We pray for the renewal of the Church in faith, love and service. In our Diocese, we pray today for St. Martin’s, Ottawa, Holy Trinity, Metcalfe, All Saints, Greely, St. George’s, Vernon, and for the members of the Risk and Audit Committee and its subcommittees.  In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St. George’s College, Jerusalem. As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. You taught us that to serve you is to serve others.  We ask that you continue to bless and sanctify the Growing in Faith Together campaign as an act of our faithfulness to you and that you will lead us to continue growing in faith together. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea and Paul our Priests, for all the clergy and people.  We give thanks for the gift of your word, the grace of the sacraments and the fellowship of your people.

People: In faith, we pray to you our God.

Leader: We pray for this local community and for all people in their daily life and work. We pray for the young and the elderly, for families, and all who are alone. We give thanks for human skill and creativity and all that reveals your loveliness.

People: In faith, we pray to you our God.

Leader: We pray for those who are in need, for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names) and those named silently or aloud (pause). We pray for all those who have died, remembering (insert names) and those named silently or aloud (pause). We pray for all who bring comfort, care and healing.  We give thanks for human love and friendship and for all that enriches our daily lives.

People: In faith, we pray to you our God.

Leader: Let us commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray, to the mercy and protection of God.

People: In faith, we pray to you our God.  Amen.
