Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

Homily

The Apostles’ Creed                                                            page 189

The Prayers of the People:

Leader: Lest the Word of God return empty to the heavens,

People: let us turn our hearts to the needs of others and plant the seeds of justice, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: In the Diocese of Ottawa we pray today for Holy Trinity Church, Pembroke, Good Shepherd, Barrhaven, and in our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem, we pray for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bir Zeit.  For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea and Paul our Priests, for all the clergy and people.

People: For the Christian churches throughout the world, that together we may harvest compassion in an abundance of mercy, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: That leaders of government refuse to worship Mars, the god of war, but rather attend to Christ’s call of peace, we pray to the Lord.

People: For farmers, harvesters, and migrant workers, and for an end of injustice toward those who work the land, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: That people of the earth may honor and respect the natural resources of the planet, and for an end to the consumerism that encourages ravage, we pray to the Lord.

People: For those who seek to learn about Christ in our communities, that fertile in faith they may be a soil rich in receptivity, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: Within our Parish we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence), we pray to you O Lord.

People: For all the sick, and for all the oppressed, that the reign of God will hold sway in all human life, we pray to the Lord.

Leader: We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), for those we name silently or aloud (silence).  In your mercy, listen to all who call to you in faith.

People: Let your word find root in our lives. We pray in the name of Jesus, who lives with you in the power of the Spirit, forever. Amen.
