News from Trinity

December 1st, 2012

“I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all people;

December is an exciting month for Children at Trinity. Not only is there Church school but there is going to be an advent craft morning, the pageant and liturgical dance classes culminating on Christmas Eve.

There will be church school up to and including Dec 23rd. Miss Jess will be visiting her family after the 25th so classes will resume on January 6th.

Coming in January will be an evening youth group for 9 to 12 year olds. We will be joining with Church of the Ascension to get a bigger group. Miss Jess will keep you posted!



A BIG thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to make coffee and snacks for coffee hour.

Another BIG thank you to Jackie, Dick, Pierre, Judy, Carmen, Sue, who decorated the church for Christmas.

Hospitality to Seniors

…Our next gatherings are on January 3rd and 31st. If you know of someone who would enjoy food, friends and song, speak with Rev Andrea so she can invite them.

Advent Study: HOW DID OUR WORLD BECOME SECULAR? “The major public features of our society—government, education, science, etc.—are all secular.

 How did religion come to be relegated to the private sphere, and separated from so many important aspects of our lives? In this lecture, I will show that, surprisingly, many of the roots of secularization can be found in the history of Christianity itself.”

Come and enjoy a time of learning with Travis DeCook. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Carleton University and teaches medieval and Renaissance literature, cultural theory, and the history of the book and media. But even better he is little Ben’s dad and a member of Trinity.

Sunday December 16th at 10:00            Pageant and Potluck: Please bring your family’s favourite dish to share.  Help putting up tables and chairs in Bender Hall before the service would be much appreciated.

Tuesday December 18th, 10am to 2pm

Carleton University Pause Table: We need your support: either by donating energy boosting snacks or by volunteering to take a turn handing out food. For more information please speak to Yvonne Silverman (613-733-5901). Check out the display in the church!
