Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

The Prayers of the People

Leader:    By your incarnation and your birth in poverty, by your baptism, your fasting, and your trials in the desert, O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    By your agony in the garden, by your cross and passion, by your death and burial, by your resurrection and ascension, and by the gift of your Holy Spirit, O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    In times of trouble and in times of well-being, at the hour we die and on the day of your glory, O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    Deliver us from war and violence, from hardness of heart and from contempt of your love and your promises; O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    Enlighten our lives with your word, that in it we may find our way and our hope; O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    Assist your people in every land, govern them in peace and justice, defend them from the enemies of life; O Lord, hear our prayer;

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    Let us pray for the Church throughout the world, particularly in Bermuda.  In our own diocese, for the parishes of St. John the Apostle and Evangelist, Vanleek Hill, St. Paul’s, East Hawkesbury, and St. Peter’s Chinese, Ottawa.  For John our bishop, for all bishops.  For Andrea our Priest, and for all the clergy and people.

People:   Lord have mercy.

Leader:    We pray for those who are sick or suffering, especially (insert names), and those we name silently or aloud (silence).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), and those we name silently or aloud (silence).

ANNOUNCEMENTS

TRINITY’S STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN is now in Week 8.  Please return your GREEN SHEET as soon as possible!

The JACKMAN COMMITTEE will be meeting in December to disperse the interest earned on the Jackman Fund over the last year.  The funds are equally divided between projects within the Parish and outreach projects outside the Parish. The Trinity-related projects require approval from Corporation and the Budget Committee, within the context of the overall Parish budgeting process.  The committee would like to hear about projects that you feel would benefit from Jackman support. You can leave your request in the Church Office marked to the attention of the Jackman Committee or you can give it directly to Judy Richardson (or by email: judith.a.richardson@gmail.com) no later than November 28th.

CONFIRMATION: the Bishop will be with us in February 2011.  If you are interested in being confirmed, please speak with the Rev. Andrea.

Mark Sunday, December 12th in your diary, as it will be Trinity’s annual CHRISTMAS PAGEANT, followed by a PARISH POT LUCK lunch.

On Wednesdays in Advent (December 1, 8, 15), Trinity is offering a special series: “AN INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN MEDITATION”.   Retired family therapist Ron Dicks will lead us into an experience of this ancient tradition of contemplative prayer which seeks God in silence and stillness – beyond words, thoughts and images.  Check your November Grapevine, or call the Church Office for more information (613-733-7536).

The CENTRETOWN EMERGENCY FOOD CENTRE needs Kraft dinner, canned soup, tuna and fruit, dry pasta, and bags of all kinds.  Envelopes for financial donations are at the back of the church.

CHANGE FOR CHANGE.  We are hoping to again send a sheep to a World Vision community this Christmas – it might even be Sheila’s.  Last year we aimed for one sheep and raised enough for three!  Please continue to be generous with your change for the World Vision bucket.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR COFFEE AND FELLOWSHIP after the 10:00 a.m. service, downstairs in Bender Hall.  If you would like to host Coffee Hour, there are still several dates available during December.  Please sign up!

If you have any announcement that didn’t make this week’s bulletin, please let Rev. Andrea know prior to the service and she will ensure that it is read.
