Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

The Prayers of the People

Leader:    Caring God, we thank you for your gifts in creation: for our world, for our land, its beauty and its resources. We pray for those who make decisions about the resources of the earth.

People:   That we may use your gifts responsibly.

Leader:    We pray for those who work on the land and sea, in city and industry.

People:   That all may enjoy the fruits of their labours and marvel at Your creation.

Leader:    We thank you God, for the earth that feeds us, the water that sustains us.

People:   We thank you for all the animals on the earth. Thank you for our pets that bring us joy, peace, and laughter.

Leader:    We know many people who are sick and suffering. We pray especially for (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (pause).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names), or those we name silently or aloud (pause), and may God comfort those who mourn.

People:   Lord, have mercy.

Leader:    We pray for the needs of the whole Church, and particularly The Episcopal Church in the U.S.A; in our own diocese: for the parish of St. Mary’s, Russell; for youth leaders and young leaders; for the visitors, volunteers and staff at Temple Pastures Retreat Centre; and for the organizers and participants in the current Ottawa Workshops on Climate Change as a Moral Issue;  for John our Bishop, for all bishops; for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people.

People:   Creator God, hear the prayers of your people. Amen.

We Celebrate The Presence Of Jesus

Offertory Hymn:  Make Me a Channel of Your Peace

Make me a channel of your peace:

where there is hatred let me bring your love;

where there is injury, your healing power,

and where there’s doubt true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace:

where there’s despair in life let me bring hope;

where there is darkness, only light,

and where there’s sadness, ever joy.

O Spirit, grant that I may never seek

so much to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand,

to be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

in giving to all that we receive,

and in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

FROSTY’S FAIR.  If you have items for the GREAT GIFTS TABLE and the SILENT AUCTION let  Nancy Bassam (613-731-5086) and Nancy Burwash (613-731-0801) know what you have so they can plan their tables. They will tell you when to bring your things to them. Great gifts need to be new items in their original packaging. Any questions? The two Nancys have the answers. Sean Baron (613-526-2243) will be looking after the BOOKS TABLE. He’ll take books, videos, CDs, DVDs. (But no old textbooks, encyclopaedia or National Geographic magazines, please!)

The CENTRETOWN EMERGENCY FOOD CENTRE needs Kraft dinner, canned soup and fruit, pasta, and bags of all kinds.  Envelopes for financial donations are at the back of the church.  THE WELL/LA SOURCE is in urgent need of large toddler diapers, and will also take used children’s and women’s clothing.  They are also asking for school supplies.  CORNERSTONE/LE PILIER is looking for occasional help at Cornerstone’s three houses with small handyman/woman jobs.  Please contact Karen Ann at karenann.mckinna@cornerstonewomen.ca or 613-233-2243 for more information.  THE MULTIFAITH HOUSING INITIATIVE (MHI) is also looking for volunteers to help paint the  Chapel Street property on October 9th and 23rd, and November 6th and 13th.  If you can spare a few hours, please call Sue Evans at 613-686-1825

CHANGE FOR CHANGE.  Please put your change in the bucket for Sheila, our World Vision child.  Check out the new scrap book for the latest information on Sheila’s activities.
