Welcome to Trinity!  If this is your first visit, please note that we do not take a collection during the service, but your offering may be placed on the plate at the back of the church as you enter or leave.  Also, there are many occasions during the service where we stand for lengthy periods.  If you are more comfortable sitting or kneeling, please feel free to do so.

The Prayers of the People

Leader:    God alone is our help and we lift up our needs and the needs of the whole human family.  Let us pray for the Church throughout the world, particularly for The Episcopal Church in the USA; in our own diocese, for St. James’, Perth, and St. Augustine’s, Drummond; for members of the Diocesan Ecumenical Unit and for members of the Synod Management Committee.   For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence).   For John our bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest and for all the clergy and people.

People:   For those who lead the people of God, that they may seek integrity and be true to their call to service, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:    For Christians everywhere, that we may be rich in good works and generously share what we have, we pray to the Lord.

People:   That our eyes may be open to see poverty and human need, and that seeing, we may act justly, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:    For an end to the abyss between rich and poor, in our community, in this nation, and throughout the world, we pray to the Lord.

People:   That our young people may learn to love charity, justice, and a gentle spirit, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:    For the aged, the infirm, the lonely, the homeless, and for all who need help to live with dignity, we pray to the Lord.

People:   That those who are imprisoned for the sake of the gospel may bear bold and glad witness to the Lord, we pray to the Lord.

Leader:    We pray for those who are sick or suffering (insert names), and for those we name silently or aloud (silence).  We remember those who have died, especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (silence).  We pray for all who are in need.

People:   Giver of all life, we ask you to sustain our life and the life of the world. Hear our cries for help. Make us as generous as you are generous in answering those who turn to you. We ask this in the name of Jesus, the Lord. Amen.
