The Prayers of the People:
Leader: Let us pray to God, who has reconciled all things in Christ, saying: Lord, in your mercy…
People: Hear our prayer.
Leader: For peace among the nations, that God may rid the world of violence and let peoples grow in justice and harmony. Lord, in your mercy…
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: For those who serve in public office, that they may work for the common good. In our Diocese, we pray today for St. Helen’s, Orleans, and for the volunteers of all Anglican Pastoral Care Teams. In our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for the Palestine Hospital, Amman, Jordan. As we move forward in our GIFT campaign, we pray O God that we remember that it is from you that every gift derives. You taught us that to serve you is to serve others. We ask that you continue to bless and sanctify the Growing in Faith Together campaign as an act of our faithfulness to you and that you will lead us to continue growing in faith together. For the needs of the whole Church that we name silently or aloud (silence). For John our Bishop, for all bishops, for Andrea our Priest, for all the clergy and people. Lord, in your mercy…
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: For Christian people everywhere, that we may joyfully proclaim and live our faith in Jesus Christ. Lord, in your mercy….
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: For those who are suffering from hunger, sickness or loneliness, that the presence of Christ may bring them health and wholeness. Remembering especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause). We remember those who have died, especially (insert names) and those we name silently or aloud (pause). Lord, in your mercy…
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Let us commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray, to the mercy and protection of God. Lord, in your mercy…
